🔒 Core Privacy Principle: All data processing happens locally in your browser. No data is sent to external servers or third parties.
1. Introduction
Welcome to the Temu Data Extractor Chrome extension ("Extension"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. Information We Access
Our extension only accesses data when you explicitly click the "Scrape Data" button:
Ratings & Reviews: Star ratings, review counts, customer feedback
Sales Data: Units sold, popularity indicators
Product Details: Available colors, sizes, variants, images
Store Information: Seller names, store ratings
💾 Local Browser Storage:
User Preferences: Your selected export format, column choices
Scraped Data: Temporarily stored before export
Settings: Filter preferences, sort options

Personal information (name, email, address)
Payment or financial details
Login credentials or passwords
Your browsing history outside Temu.com
Other tabs or browser activity
3. How We Use Information
All data processing is performed locally in your browser:
Data Extraction: Parse Temu.com HTML to extract product information
Data Formatting: Structure data for CSV, Excel, or JSON export
Local Storage: Save preferences and extracted data between sessions
UI Display: Show extracted data in the extension popup
4. Permission Justifications
Our extension requires these Chrome permissions to function:
🔗 activeTab Permission
Access the current Temu.com tab only when you click our icon. Allows reading visible product data.
💾 storage Permission
Save your preferences and scraped data locally using Chrome's storage API.
⚙️ scripting Permission
Execute content scripts on Temu.com pages to extract product data.
🌐 *.temu.com Host Permission
Access all Temu regional domains (us.temu.com, uk.temu.com, etc.) and their product pages.
5. Data Storage & Processing
Local Processing Only: All data extraction, processing, and storage happens within your Chrome browser. No data leaves your computer.
Storage Location: Data is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data:
Persists until you clear it or uninstall the extension
Is not synced to Google servers
Is not accessible by other extensions or websites
Can be cleared anytime via the "Clear Data" button
6. Third-Party Libraries
We use the following open-source libraries:
SheetJS (xlsx.js): For Excel file generation. Runs locally in your browser.
7. Your Rights & Control
You have complete control over your data:
Clear Data: Use the "Clear Data" button to remove all stored information
Choose Data: Select which product fields to extract and export
Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data
Export Data: Download your data in CSV, Excel, or JSON format
8. Children's Privacy
Our extension is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
